Starter Packs Glasgow is delighted at winning the Furniture Reuse Network’s Presidents Award for innovation. This recognition is a boost for the whole team and hardens resolve to continue to provide a professional service to those in need whatever challenges we face!

Starter Packs Glasgow continues to work with furniture projects throughout England and Wales , with the FRN and Housing Justice to encourage the replication of similar projects.

Sat Sept 8th  Starter Packs Glasgow will be participating in Govan Greenzone, 12 – 4 in Elder Park.

SPG will be running the Free Shop, to illustrate that there is no need to send unwanted items to landfill: somebody else can make use of what you no longer need!!

June 2007Half yearly report: 270 households assisted so far in 2007: goods with a value of over £44,500 redistributed

Spg works with staff and Pricewaterhouse Glasgow office to mark world environment day. Staff donated household items to Spg for reuse .

Sarah Findlay speaks at Cylch day event in Llandrindod Wells to promote the starter packs model to Welsh community reuse groups.

Development Manager Sarah Findlay is working with Housing Justice and S.C.H.A. to develop Starter Packs Projects throughout the London boroughs.
SPG is operating a pilot project with GHA in 5 Glasgow neighbourhoods. The impact of SPG's service will be monitored by Housing Officers.
 
September 2006Sale of curios, collectables and retro goods at Kelvinside Hillhead parish Church,Huntly Gardens. -- Entrance to hall in observatory lane !
£1350 was made at the sale held at Hillhead Church l

April 2006Starter Packs Glasgow holds its AGM. Guest speaker Fiona Macdonald of the Glasgow Simon Community told a well attended meeting of the value of our service to her clients. Ken Bussey , Environment Officer for Greater Govan, joined the Management Committee.Peter Millar joined the Management Committee.

 

March 2006Ian Manson, Policy Advisor to the Leader of Glasgow City Council visited Starter Packs. He was impressed with the scope of our work and we hope he will be able to inform Cllr Steven Purcell, Leader of the Council of our the we do work both socially and environmentally.
