The general guideline is:
If you wouldn't be prepared to use an item yourself,
don't donate it to Starter Packs Glasgow.
We cannot use items which are stained, torn, cracked, have missing parts, are rusty, broken or showing significant wear. In addition, we have no facilities for cleaning donated items, so please make sure that anything you give us is in ready-to-use condition.
We can only accept small items of furniture - such as a nest of tables, bedside cabinet or small coffee table - and the item must be in good condition. We do not accept donations of clothing unless new or in excellent condition in which case we can pass it on to other projects. If you have larger items of furniture or clothing to donate, we suggest you contact the organisations listed here
We reserve the right to dispose of donated items we cannot use in starter packs in the best way possible; this includes selling it, exchanging it for something else (e.g. bric-a-brac for bed linen at a charity shop), donating it to another organisation or disposal through the the council civic amenity sites (as a last resort).
Remember we are trying to help members of our community settle into new homes not just pass on our rubbish!
